We offer two types of Intermediate Apprenticeships: Trade and Business Apprenticeships.
These programmes give you expert on-the-job training and a nationally recognised qualification. Typically, these apprenticeships are designed to allow you to gain work-based learning qualifications such as a Level 2 Competence Qualification.
You will learn the essential skills of your trade and obtain a vocational qualification - while also earning a full time salary.
Having completed your GCSEs (or equivalent), our Intermediate Trade Apprenticeships give you the opportunity to support real projects, learn about our business and get involved in our operations.
During the scheme you will attend college on a day or block release basis and learn the essential skills of your future role. You will demonstrate the skills learned at college and improve them in real work situations.
What qualifications will I get?
You have the opportunity to gain a range of recognised qualifications:
- NVQ Level 2
- Level 2 Diploma in relevant subject
- Level 2 Functional Skills (Maths, English, ICT)
- Personal Learning and Thinking Skills
What benefits will I get?
You will receive a competitive salary, plus a range of benefits. These vary across our business, but include:
- A pension scheme
- Participation in our flexible benefits programme
- The ability to join the Share Incentive Plan (SIP)
- Up to 25 days holiday per year
- Travel allowance/company car
Your salary will rise with qualifications achieved and experience gained. In addition, we will pay your college fees.
How long will it last?
The apprenticeship will last for around two years but will finish when you reach the required standard and gain the relevant qualification.
Where will I be based?
Our apprenticeship schemes are available across the UK.
What do I need to apply?
This varies according to scheme but generally you will require three GCSEs (or equivalent) at A*- C grades in English, Maths and a Science. You may have already studied for a Trade Diploma at college, which may give you some exemptions in the apprenticeship. You will usually need to sit and pass aptitude tests for the trade apprenticeship depending on the trade. Full details will be stated in the job advert.
